A stone set so low it keeps moving when you do.
Eleven stones, set below the surface of the band so the light travels along the gold before it reaches the eye. The band narrows by a single millimetre at the shoulder.
The piece
Most rings are cut to be seen once, at the moment they are handed over. This one was cut for the four hundredth time — the moment somebody puts it on without thinking about it, and catches their own hand in bad light.
