Nocturne
Gold kept just below the threshold of sight.

Made to be kept.
A signature piece is not restocked. It is drawn around a single idea about light, made in one short run, and closed when the material is gone.

Each collection is built around a single idea about light, and is named for the hour it was made for. They are shown in the order they were conceived.

The only material that remembers being warm.
Worked at a low, steady heat and polished in two directions, so it holds a soft edge rather than a hard one.

Cut for the moment before it settles.
Set below the surface, so the light travels along the metal first and reaches the stone already moving.

The only finish the house never corrects.
Left as it grows. Slight irregularity is the point, and removing it would remove the object.

Sawn, never polished. The tool marks stay.
Set raw against mirror-finished gold, so the eye keeps moving between the two surfaces.
A piece that skips a stage is not shortened, it is remade. Nothing in the workshop is divided into finer steps than the person at the bench can hold in their head at once.
Chosen by weight in the hand before anything else. Colour is the last thing considered, not the first.
Drawn and filed to the line. Removed slowly, because the metal has already decided how much it will give.
Four claws, one depth, and a margin of gold left on the crown. Counted before it is felt.
A loupe and one steady light. Most of the work here is deciding that a piece is finished.
Held once at the bench and then released. It is not inspected again, because it cannot be improved from here.

A signature piece is not restocked. When its material is gone, the piece is finished and the edition is closed.
All pieces

The house is small on purpose. Every piece passes through the same two benches, and nothing leaves the room that has not been held.
Inside the atelierFour benches, one bench each. Nothing in the workshop is divided into finer steps than the person at the bench can hold in their head at once.
Gold arrives as grain and sheet. Nothing is ordered finished, because a finished surface cannot be corrected later.
Five chapters, in order, every time. A piece that skips one is not shortened, it is remade.
Two faces, opposite on purpose. One mirror, one satin, so the object is legible from any angle a person might pick it up.
Notes from the bench, on stones, on the weather, and on why a house this size still refuses to hurry.
