The Vesper Band
A line of gold with one interruption in it.
The plainest piece in the house, and the hardest to make. A single rose-gold inlay is let into the band by hand, flush enough that the finger never finds a seam.
The piece
There is no stone here to catch the light, so the work has to be read in the finish. Under a lamp the inlay appears as a different colour entirely; in daylight it disappears.
